The power behind our formulations

Australia’s lush, clean landscapes provide the perfect environment for plant life rich in nutrients to flourish. Our natural and botanical active ingredients are full of health giving benefits such as vitamins, minerals and antioxidants essential for babies healthy skin.

Aloe Vera

A renowned herb. Used for a wide variety of conditions, but especially for skin care, aloe vera dates back to the Ancient Egyptians in 1500BC. More recently, scientific studies have demonstrated a multitude of beneficial effects; it accelerates wound healing, increases collagen and proteoglycan synthesis (essential proteins that make up skin), has anti-inflammatory effects and has hydrating, insulating and protective properties secondary to its polysaccharide component.

Camellia Seed Oil

Camellia – this winter-blooming flower has been harvested for centuries by the Japanese Geisha, who are famed for their glowing skin and long, lustrous hair. As a member of the same botanical family as the plants cultivated for tea, camellia oil is similarly rich in antioxidants and beneficial vitamins. It has one of the highest percentages of omega-9 oleic acid of any natural oil – higher than olive oil and avocado oil – yet its molecular structure allows it to be more easily absorbed by the skin, resulting in a lighter and more velvety feel. As such, it does not clog pores or leave residue;use of just a few drops provides deeply nourishing hydration for your child’s skin.

Chamomile

Chamomile has a long history dating back over two thousand years. Traditionally used by Egyptian noblewomen and prescribed by Greek physicians, chamomile is one of the ‘Nine Sacred Herbs’ of the ‘Lacnunga’, an ancient Anglo-Saxon manuscript. Although well-known for its health benefits when consumed orally as tea, its topical applications are often overlooked. Chamomile oil has strong anti-inflammatory effects and has been shown, in studies, to be moderately effective in the treatment of atopic eczema, common in children. With regular use in small amounts, however, it can help prevent red, angry or dry skin from appearing.

Grapeseed Oil

Derived from cold-pressed grape seeds, grapeseed oil is a lightweight yellow oil popularised for its moisturising effects on the skin. Similar to sweet almond oil, it is packed full of antioxidants and linoleic acid (omega-6) which helps protect the skin from dryness and moisture loss. Given its lightweight nature, it is especially useful for thin hair; grapeseed oil helps reinforce hair shafts without weighing them down unlike other greasier oils.

Jojoba Seed Oil

Native to the sonora desert of North America, the jojoba plant has been used by Native Americans for centuries. The extracted oil is noncomedogenic (does not clog pores) and is rich in iodine, which directly inhibits bacterial growth on the skin. As well as being rich in antioxidants to reduce the signs of aging, jojoba oil has been shown in studies to boost fibroblast activity in the skin and has shown impressive results in repairing lesions and wounds. This is especially useful for preventing and treating diaper dermatitis.

Macadamia Seed Oil

Native to Australia, the macadamia nut is an excellent source of palmitoleic acid – otherwise known as omega-7, an essential fatty acid found in the skin’s sebum. This oil works in harmony with natural skin lipids to replenish the skin’s protective barrier against moisture loss, leaving the skin deeply hydrated, rejuvenated and plumped. Combined with its high levels of the antioxidant squalene, regular topical use of macadamia oil helps protect the skin from free radical damage that can otherwise lead to ageing, fine lines, spots, and wrinkles. By protecting the skin’s inherent collagen, it will help keep your child’s skin elastic and youthful.

Oat Kernel Extract

The common oat – the foundation of human civilization itself. This cereal grain has fed our species for centuries with its high levels of B1, B2 & Vitamin D. When applied topically, these high levels of nutrients diffuse directly into the skin to provide maximal effect; Vitamin D plays a role in increasing skin cell metabolism while the B vitamins help with circulation and maintain glowing skin tones. It further contains avenanthramide (a phenolic alkaloid) as an active compound, providing relief for your child from itching and protecting them from the sun’s harmful radiation. Moreover, it diminishes pro-inflammatory cytokines and shows improvements in skin drying, scaling & roughness.

Rosehip Oil

Extracted from the hem of the rose plant, rosehip oil (also known as rose seed oil) is a well-established anti-aging agent. Containing large amounts of linoleic acid – an important component of plant cell membranes – and retinoic acid, regular use helps minimise fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and stretch marks. It is also a natural source of the powerful antioxidants lycopene, which helps improve skin texture, and beta-carotene, which helps reduce free-radical damage responsible for skin ageing. This is particularly important for your child; preventing fine lines and wrinkles from a young age can help keep at them at bay past adulthood!

Shea Butter

Shea Butter has traditionally been used as an edible oil in African cuisine and as a treatment for rheumatism, nostril inflammation, soothing and healing following circumcision, and for theprevention pregnancy stretch marks. In current modern times, it is highly praised for its intense moisturising effect on the skin. Combined with its remarkable levels of vitamin A, E and catechins (plant antioxidants), topical shea butter boosts healthy skin cell production and helps keep skin feeling soft, smooth and firm.

Sweet Almond Oil

Mild and hypoallergenic, sweet almond oil is perfect for your child’s sensitive skin. It has a light texture and is easily absorbed. With high levels of essential fatty acids, including oleic (omega 9) and linoleic (omega 6) fatty acids, sweet almond oil helps keep skin feeling soft and plump.Studies have also shown its effects in preventing UV damage from sunlight, which accumulates over a lifetime – even during childhood! It is especially useful in soothing flaky and red skin, as commonly occurs with childhood eczema.
